Capesize Commentary:
It is often said that silence is golden. Well golden week started today and bought with it silence in abundance. Activity was limited in the physical market while the paper was muted. With such thin trading volumes it’s hard to gauge direction and as a consequence most participants were happy to sit on their hands.
Panamax Commentary:
It was a sluggish start to the week on Panamax paper as the slowdown in activity due to holidays brought with it a softer tone across the market with sellers chipping away at the front of the curve in light volume.
Supramax Commentary
Supramax paper remained pretty flat to the close before the weekend as we witnessed a static day with rates struggling to find any direction. With the golden week holiday upon us we may have seen some signs of the sort of week we are in for with thin markets a limited activity. Have a good evening.
Handysize Commentary
Quiet day on Handy paper with no reported trading.
